The Internship Film Review

Release Date: 04/07/2013
Date watched: 02/07/2013
Director: Shawn Levy

Plot:
Two salesmen whose careers have been torpedoed by the digital age find their way into a coveted internship at Google, where they must compete with a group of young, tech-savvy geniuses for a shot at employment.
Review:
Think of The Social Network with less geekiness, more humour, lots of silliness, many meaningful speeches and hilarity of adults trying to use technology.
I wasn’t particularly looking forward to this film when I saw it was starring Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson. Usually I despise their films (The Break-up, Wedding Crashers, You, Me and Dupree to name a few), but they did both surprise me in this. It has the right amount of comedy and seriousness that doesn’t end up with you disliking them.
The film had some very nice cinematography and good editing to entice you to a LA life.
The performances of the main group of characters were brilliant! They’re all very distinct but gel very well together! The supporting cast were very good in their roles!
The film is essentially a massive advert for Google and there is so much product placement for Samsung and Apple! But i guess you can’t have a techy film without that.
The Internship gives it's audience the ideologies of chasing your dreams and not giving up no matter what, which is very inspirational to younger audiences and will resonate with older audience members.
Got to be honest, it is a very good film! Would definitely recommend watching it. It may not appeal to everyone, but I think it will appeal to a wide age range of audiences. It has something for everyone.
